The Territory Network

This page is still being developed. Please be patient.

The Territory Network was an alliance of Community Radio Stations in The Northern Territory of Australia, the main aim of which appeared to be to provide 'Capital City' programming to remote communities.

The stations involved (IIRC) were:

  • 8TOP (Territory FM) (now 8TFM 104one)
  • 8EAR (Gove FM)(A station which appears to have closed down recently)
  • Batchelor FM (I cannot find any information on this station)1)
  • 8KTR (Katherine FM)
  • Tennant Creek FM 2)
  • 8CCC (8CCC Community Radio in Alice Springs)

From what I remember, these stations Handled their own programming for a good part of the day, and taking Territory Network programming at other times (Afternoon is one slot I remember)

1) Update: There is a community station called “Radio Rum Jungle” on 95.3 MHz, but I don't know if this is the same station
2) Not sure about this one, but I gather it may have been a Translator for 8CCC
